Give attention somewhere to return
Imagine returning to a project after an interruption and finding a clear account of the next decision, the relevant notes and the reason it matters. The benefit would not be more activity on a screen. It would be less effort spent remembering how to begin again.
That scenario offers a useful way to evaluate a personal assistant. It should help a person recover context without burying them in reminders. A suggestion should feel timely, and the user should be able to change the priority when life takes a different direction.
Make assistance feel understandable
Our editorial view is that personal intelligence becomes valuable when people can understand the relationship they are entering. They should know what the system is drawing on and be able to correct an assumption without starting the whole experience again.
